Jim
McClure Fund Raiser, Raises over $18,000.00!
A special fundraiser program, spearheaded
by JIMS and the AHDRA, was announced at the 2004 JIMS Las Vegas
Nationals to benefit Jim McClure's medical fund and D.R.A.W. (Drag
Racing Association for Women). Jim McClure was a 19 time world champion
in AHDRA racing, and a true friend to all who knew him.
The program dubbed the "6 second
cause" included a $50 donation from contributing companies
for every 6 second pass in elimination's. The companies included
JIMS, Screamin' Eagle, Rivera/Primo Products, S & S Cycle, Performance
Machine, G- Squared Motor Sports, Red Line Oil, Vanson Leathers,
F & S Motorcycle Sales, Southside Harley-Davidson and Hampton
Roads Harley-Davidson.
These generous contributions combined
with JIMS memorial T-shirt sales and donation boxes resulted in
a check presentation to Phyllis McClure in the amount of $18,700.00!
JIMS would like to take this oppotunity
to thank all of the participating sponsors as well as the spectacular
fan and racer participation. Jim McClure....... we miss you, and
look forward to meeting you at the end of the big track!
